Whether it is divorce or termination,
rejection can suck the life out of any person.

What does Rejection and Discouragement do to us?

If we allow it . . . . . it robs us of our self esteem.

Our self image seeps out of our pores and spreads all over that with which we come in contact.

We scream before a passing world that our self esteem is bankrupt.

What made the difference?

Powerlessness – a condition where one believes they have no voice or influence in their world.

Is established in the family of origin.
Is the body language predators search for.
If unattended, will be fed off of by family and friends leading to deeper discouragement and abuse.

Your self image and self value will telegraph too.

Where powerlessness is even evident to predators in the written form across the internet…. Discouragement is evident in our cover letters and resumes.

Mostly, our devalued self image, is reflected by our immobility.

When we no longer move in the direction of our self interest, self benefit, or self improvement, we become bound in a lose/lose situation like the quicksand.

What does CONFIDENCE look like?
First one to BLINK

SO . . .

What does Relevant Confidence
Look Like?

It’s brutal out there. But the people getting hired aren’t necessarily the most connected — they’re the most creative. From food diarists to Twitter stalkers to candidates tapping the “hidden job market.”

If you don’t believe in your product, how do you expect your customer to be happy with it? The Next Design Star

Replace discouragement with Positive Reinforcement.

List all the people that you know who Encourage you, or Challenge You. STAY CONNECTED with these people!

Identify the movies or shows, books, that Inspire You.

Count your many Blessings, Name them one by one.

Praise the Lord. Bless others.

Re-establish your Confidence.
Identify any and all achievements in your life.
Build on the positive. Build on your strengths.
Recognize the Value that you have added (or do add) to past employment, church, bowling, etc.
Smile
Become the source of encouragement for others.
Become the source of referral to job postings.
Recognize each response as a success rather than each no-reply as a failure.

Compare and Contrast what you see as

Failures vs. Success

Unprepared vs. Prepared

What about Enthusiasm?

Which comes first?

Does a change in attitude affect a change in behavior?
Or. . . . .
Does a change in behavior affect a change in attitude?

If I Act Enthusiastic

then I’ll be Enthusiastic

Confidence and Enthusiasm go hand in hand.

When you improve one,
then you will ultimately
improve the other.

“ Two are better than one, because they have a better return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” Ecclesiastes 4:9,10
